The lead detective in the Jeffrey Dahmer case is warning against the release of Connecticut cannibal killer Tyree Smith. Retired Detective Dennis Murphy, who took Dahmer’s confession, says Smith should remain locked away, fearing he could revert to his violent ways. Smith, who killed and cannibalized a victim in 2011, was granted conditional release from a psychiatric hospital last week.
