A family of five in New Milford was displaced after a house fire late Wednesday night. The flames outside a Dean Road home spread into the basement through a broken patio door. Crews arrived within three minutes and had the fire under control in just over 20 minutes. The three adults and two teenagers suffered minor smoke inhalation and are receiving aid from the Red Cross. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
