A Redding man accused of stabbing his mother in the neck appeared in court Monday, where a judge lowered his bond to $500,000. Police say 38-year-old Michael Amari called 911 Sunday afternoon, admitting to the attack at their Limekiln Road home. His mother was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Amari faces charges including first-degree assault and unlawful restraint. The judge yesterday, dropped an interference charge and issued a no-contact order. His next court appearance is set for April 28.
