Southbury Still Seeking Disaster Funds

Southbury officials are frustrated as federal disaster funds remain elusive nearly eight months after devastating floods struck the town last August. Despite FEMA’s approval of over $12 million for Connecticut households, the town has yet to receive any municipal disaster assistance. With up to $10 million in damages and a $1 million budget deficit, officials are urging faster federal response to help repair key facilities like the Southbury Public Library, which remains closed until November.
