A New Milford man found not guilty by reason of insanity has been ordered to undergo 20 years of psychiatric treatment. 32 year old Kenneth Mosley Jr. attacked a man with a pipe during a 2023 home invasion and claimed divine instruction drove his actions. A judge ruled in February that Mosley suffers from severe mental illness and couldn’t understand the criminal nature of his conduct. The new ruling now assures that he will be held in a secure psychiatric facility under state supervision. Mosley, who was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia, won’t serve prison time but he could face a sentence review based on his progress… or lack of progress.
