Electric bills are dropping in Connecticut. It means that starting May 1, Eversource customers will save about 13 dollars a month. State regulators approved the changes after months of back-and-forth over how much should be refunded. The compromise uses 142 million in credits—less than half what Eversource first proposed. The reduction ties back to long-term nuclear power contracts aimed at cutting emissions and stabilizing prices. The lower rates run through next April, but could change again in the fall.
