CT Senate Passes Bill to Destroy Vehicles Used in Street Takeovers

The Connecticut Senate passed a bill allowing cities to destroy dirt bikes, ATVs, and other vehicles used in street takeovers. It passed 35–1 and now heads to the House. The bill also allows fines of up to two thousand dollars and possible license revocation for repeat offenders. Many Connecticut cities have pushed for this, saying impounded vehicles are piling up. The one senator who cast a vote opposing it, claimed concerns that stolen property could be destroyed without proper notice to owners.
