A Long Island man broke a Connecticut state fishing record after reeling in a massive 45-pound, 8-ounce common carp from Lake Lillinonah in Southbury. 44 year old Rafal Wlazlo made the record-setting catch on May 25 after nearly two months of near round-the-clock fishing. State officials confirmed the new mark. Wlazlo, who owns a carp-fishing shop in New York, released the fish back into the lake. He says he’ll be back soon to try topping his own record.
