42 year old Jeffrey Lovelace, the school psychologist at Veterans Park Elementary, was named Ridgefield’s Teacher of the Year. Lovelace was chosen for going beyond one-on-one sessions by teaching weekly wellness lessons to all grades, using skills based on behavior therapy. He also offers parent training to support student mental health. Lovelace has worked in the district for eight years and aims to expand his programs next school year.
