Danbury Intersection Gets $2.65 Million Upgrade to Ease Traffic, Improve Safety

Work is underway on a $2.65 million project to widen White Street at Locust Avenue and Wildman Street in Danbury. The grant-funded effort aims to reduce traffic backups near Western Connecticut State University and improve safety for pedestrians. Plans include new turn lanes on all approaches, better sidewalks and upgraded lighting. The city will also replace old crosswalk flashers with newer technology. The busy intersection connects key parts of downtown and surrounding areas.
