A 57 year old Danbury woman is facing animal cruelty and abandonment charges after authorities say she left her cat in a plastic container in the woods near Old Milltown Road in Southeast. Putnam County SPCA says Ruth Reynoso admitted dumping the cat after being identified through store surveillance video. The animal was rescued by a passerby and is now at the Putnam Humane Society, where it will soon be up for adoption. Reynoso was released pending a court date.
