Metro-north’s Danbury Branch to Shut Down for 17 Days in August

Train service on Metro-North’s Danbury Branch will be suspended from August 1 through August 17 as crews complete repairs and upgrades. The Connecticut Department of Transportation says substitute buses will run during the closure, with normal rail service resuming August 18. The 17-day shutdown allows track and crossing improvements in Norwalk, Wilton and Bethel. Officials say the continuous work schedule will save money and speed up progress. Riders are urged to plan ahead and check the temporary bus schedule at www.mta.info.
