Report- Fairer Wages Key to Rebuilding Connecticut’s Labor Force

A new report from Connecticut Voices for Children says wage inequality is slowing the state’s economy. The nonprofit says fewer women and “prime-age” workers are participating in the labor force, partly due to caregiving demands and low wage returns. To reverse the trend, the report urges Connecticut to raise wages, close racial and gender pay gaps, and make work more flexible. Officials say without action, job growth will remain sluggish and family affordability will worsen.
