Connecticut Attorney General William Tong is urging regulators to reject a $2.4 billion plan by a nonprofit to buy Aquarion Water Company from Eversource. Tong says the deal could double water bills for 722,000 customers and weaken oversight. Eversource and Aquarion call Tong’s claims false. Regulators are expected to decide later this year.
