The New Milford Town Council has passed an ordinance banning commercial buses from South Kent Road after residents raised safety and traffic concerns. Police can now issue $250 fines for violations. The ban does not apply to school buses or smaller jitneys. Residents said the narrow, winding road is unsafe for large buses, most of which travel to Club Getaway. Town leaders say they’ll work with Kent and the state on long-term solutions.
