New Milford’s town council has rejected a proposal to cut its eight polling sites down to one for budget referendums. Officials said the change could confuse voters and overwhelm a single location. Instead, the council voted to move the annual May budget referendum to Saturdays, running from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., in hopes of boosting turnout.
