A long-vacant former dry cleaning site in Brookfield has been cleaned up and cleared for redevelopment. More than 1,300 tons of contaminated soil were removed from 20 Station Road, where tests once showed solvent levels thousands of times above safe limits. The property will now become a 60-unit apartment complex with 20 percent designated as affordable housing. Construction is expected to start next spring and finish by summer 2027.
