Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves is teaming up with UFC legends Glover Teixeira and current Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira to launch a youth mixed martial arts program. Set to begin in early 2026 at the Danbury War Memorial, the program will be funded through the city’s 3% cannabis sales tax revenue. The initiative aims to give local kids a safe, structured place to learn discipline, confidence, and fitness. Registration details will be announced in the coming months.
