Connecticut Voter Turnout Climbs To Highest Level Since 2017

Voter turnout in Connecticut’s local elections hit 35.7 percent this year — the highest level in at least eight years. But the increase wasn’t statewide. Larger cities like Hartford and Bridgeport saw turnout below five percent, while Waterbury was under 17. Smaller towns led the way, with Lyme topping the list at 66 percent and Bridgewater close behind at 63. Final numbers are still being updated by the Secretary of the State’s office.
