Danbury Catches Up On City Audits Ending State Oversight

Danbury Mayor Roberto Alves says the city has completed three overdue audits in less than two years, clearing state oversight and stabilizing its finances. The latest 2024 audit shows revenues about $2.3 million above budget and a strong fund balance. Alves credited added finance staff and tighter controls for the turnaround, saying work on the 2025 audit is already underway to keep Danbury on track.
