Firefighter Charged After Alleged Armed Threat Toward Woman

A volunteer firefighter from Sandy Hook is facing multiple charges after police say he threatened a woman with a gun during an October disturbance. Officers reported that 62 year old George Lockwood yelled threats outside a residence while holding a pipe and possibly a firearm, and they say he later reached toward his waistband, exposing what looked like a handgun. Police detained him safely and recovered a BB gun and a shotgun from the home. He’s charged with first degree threatening, breach of peace, and failing to secure a firearm, and was released on a 25 thousand dollar bond.
