Judge Pushes New Fairfield Man’s Child Abuse Case To Move Forward

A judge in Danbury made it clear he’s done with delays in the case of 67 year old John Fairchild, the New Fairfield man charged with possessing child sexual abuse material. Fairchild and his attorney filed yet another 30-day continuance, then left the courthouse, prompting the judge to warn no more delays will be accepted. The charge stems from images found on a tablet seized during a 2024 raid. The case is tied to a separate investigation into a fire that killed Fairchild’s wife, which police later suspended for lack of evidence. Fairchild is due back January 9.
