A Danbury man tied to a 2024 drive-by shooting at Rogers Park has been granted a two-year court diversionary program that could wipe his record clean. Twenty year old Jimmy Acevedo was approved for accelerated rehabilitation after prosecutors said he cooperated in the case against the shooter, 20 year old Alexie Espinal, who is now serving four years. Police say shots were fired at three minors on bikes, though no one was hit. Acevedo must finish his GED, stay weapon-free, avoid new arrests and have no contact with Espinal.
