Animal Sanctuary in Newtown Expands in Memory of Sandy Hook Victim

The Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary in Newtown has opened its first indoor space, expanding year-round programs to honor 6 year old Catherine Hubbard, a Sandy Hook victim. The learning barn will allow children and the public to participate in educational programs about animals and nature regardless of weather. The sanctuary also runs the Senior Paw Project, covering pet care costs for seniors to keep their animals safe. Founder Jenny Hubbard says the sanctuary continues Catherine’s legacy of kindness, offering a place where visitors can feel hope amid the anniversary of the 2012 tragedy.
