Charges have been dropped against 19 year old Emmet Blaney, a Fairfield University student, who was accused of promoting a fake SantaCon event at a private home without permission. Blaney had faced criminal attempt to commit disorderly conduct and criminal attempt to commit criminal trespass after Fairfield police said online that no public SantaCon events would be held this year, aside from a private gathering hosted by the university.
No arrests or incidents occurred at the approved event. Authorities say the case against Blaney will not proceed.
