The Danbury City Council recently approved multiple grant applications, including funds for the fire department, library, and elderly services. The council also advanced a $4 million pedestrian-safety project and referred a proposal to review elected-official salaries to an ad hoc committee. Additional state funding of $124,000 was approved for local homeless shelters.
