Commuters on Metro-North and New York City transit will see fare and ticket changes starting Jan. 4. Monthly and weekly rail tickets rise up to 4.5 percent, while most other tickets jump eight percent. Subway and bus fares increase to three dollars, as tap-and-go fare capping becomes permanent.
