Connecticut Residents Sick In Raw Oyster Salmonella Outbreak

Federal health officials say two Connecticut residents are among at least 64 people sickened nationwide in a salmonella outbreak linked to raw oysters. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports cases in 21 states, and twenty people have been hospitalized. The CDC says the true number of cases is likely higher because many illnesses go unreported. Investigators are still working to identify a common source and warn that eating raw oysters carries a risk of contamination year round.
