Demolition is underway next to the First Congregational Church in downtown Danbury, clearing the site for a seven story senior housing development. A two story frame home was torn down to make way for a planned 30 unit apartment building approved after multiple zoning variances. Developers say the project is designed to support the historic church while adding senior housing near City Hall. Construction timing has not yet been announced.
