Accused Arsonist with Hit List Offered Plea Deal in Stamford Court

A 25 year old former Ridgefield man accused of trying to set fire to a New Canaan mental health facility and later caught with a sledgehammer, hatchet and hit list at JFK Airport may face up to 15 years in prison under a proposed plea deal. Prosecutors offered Darren Yu Huang two sentencing options that include prison, parole or probation. Huang escaped court-ordered treatment twice and is accused of pouring gasoline at Silver Hill Hospital during a 2023 incident. He’s due back in Stamford court on September 4.
