Connecticut lawmakers have approved another $100 million to repair homes with crumbling foundations caused by a mineral called pyrrhotite. State officials say this latest round of funding, part of a new state bond package, may be the last needed to fix the roughly 3,500 to 3,700 affected homes. The money will be distributed over the next four years. The state has already spent $200 million, plus insurance surcharges, and they say they expect repairs to surpass 1,100 homes by Labor Day, with the crisis mostly resolved by 2031.
