Connecticut will add up to 1,000 new Early Start CT child care slots in January 2026, part of what the state calls its largest early-education expansion ever. Provider payments will also rise by up to 8% to help with staffing and operating costs. The move is funded through the state’s new Early Childhood Education Endowment. Officials say applications for providers open soon, with up to $19 million available through 2027. The program serves income-eligible families with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children.
