Connecticut Joins Multistate Nursing Compact

Connecticut is now part of a multistate licensure compact that lets registered and practical nurses use one license to work in 43 participating states and territories. Governor Ned Lamont said the move boosts staffing flexibility and helps ease ongoing shortages. State officials say more than 3,500 Connecticut nurses have already applied since the change took effect in October. Supporters argue the compact strengthens recruitment by making it easier for qualified nurses from other states to work in Connecticut.
