Connecticut Man Gets 9 Years In Prison For Drone Drug Smuggling Scheme

A 35 year old Connecticut man has been sentenced to nine years in federal prison for running a drug operation and using drones to smuggle narcotics and contraband into a federal prison in New York.
Prosecutors say Harrison Elba of Glastonbury distributed synthetic drugs commonly sold as bath salts and operated a manufacturing setup tied to a Connecticut business. Authorities also say he produced illegal mushrooms, THC products, and large quantities of marijuana, and admitted to handling cocaine and firearms. His sentence includes seven years of supervised release and a $5,000 fine. The entire drone smuggling operation remains under federal investigation.
