A man who admitted to killing his ex-girlfriend with an axe has been sentenced to 40 years in prison. Ewen DeWitt of Milford had to be restrained during Thursday’s sentencing in a courtroom after an outburst. He pleaded guilty in March to the 2022 murder of 40 year old Julie Minogue, which happened just days after she was granted a restraining order against him.
