Connecticut To Spread Snap Benefits Over Eight Days Starting March

Connecticut is changing how SNAP food assistance benefits are distributed beginning March 1. Benefits for roughly 336,000 recipients will be issued over eight days instead of three. State officials say spreading out deposits will ease overcrowding at grocery stores and improve access to fresh food. The new schedule will be based on the last two digits of a recipient’s EBT client ID and will remain the same each month after the initial change.
