Connecticut Woman Admits To Huge Medicaid Fraud

A Connecticut woman admitted in federal court this week, to running a scheme that defrauded Connecticut’s Medicaid program out of a staggering nearly $1.9 million. Prosecutors say 38-year-old Suhail Aponte filed fake claims for autism treatment that never happened. Aponte wasn’t licensed and billed Medicaid for services patients never received, including while they were hospitalized. She faces up to 10 years in prison and will forfeit over $450,000 and two properties. Sentencing is set for July 30.
