CT Officials Warn Public- Don’t Plant Mystery Seeds

Connecticut agriculture officials are warning residents not to plant any mystery seeds that show up in the mail. The state says unsolicited seed packages, which have been reported elsewhere in the U.S. in recent years, could carry pests or diseases that threaten local crops and ecosystems. Residents are urged to seal the seeds in a plastic bag and toss them in the trash. If already planted, contact the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station immediately.
