Danbury Animal Welfare Society Completes $2.1M Shelter Renovation

The Danbury Animal Welfare Society in Bethel has wrapped up a $2.1 million renovation project, expanding its shelter and adding new features like a kitten nursery, puppy nursery, and grooming room. The upgrades coincide with the nonprofit’s 50th anniversary and are designed to improve animal care and speed up adoptions. So far this year, DAWS has celebrated about 600 adoptions, with more expected as the shelter continues to grow and expand its low-cost veterinary services.
