Danbury City Employee Enters Diversion Program in Domestic Violence Case

A longtime Danbury employee charged in a domestic violence case has been approved for a court diversionary program that could lead to dismissed charges. 43 year old Nelson Lopes of Southbury was granted a two-year family violence education and treatment program in Superior Court of Connecticut, after his arrest last June on felony and misdemeanor charges including threatening and strangulation. If he completes the program successfully, his case is scheduled for dismissal in February 2028.
