Danbury Gop Finalizes Slate of Candidates for November Municipal Election

Danbury Republicans have officially nominated longtime City Council member Emile Buzaid Jr. as their candidate for mayor. Speaking to supporters Tuesday at Anthony’s Lake Club, Buzaid vowed to lead the city “back to where it needs to be,” outlining a platform focused on business, education, safety, and transportation.
Buzaid, a local business owner and third-generation Danbury resident, hopes to help the GOP reclaim City Hall and reverse losses from 2023, when Democrats flipped control of the mayor’s office and council.
