After two years of planning and debate, the Danbury Planning Commission has approved a project to convert the vacant Crowne Plaza Hotel on the city’s west side into 200 micro-apartments and a makerspace. Developer Dan Bertram’s ambitious vision for the property, now dubbed “Bright Ravens Innovation Studios,” includes affordable housing units priced from $1,250 per month, alongside a restaurant, cocktail lounge, and a 20,000-square-foot makerspace.
