A 30 year old Danbury woman is recovering after being rescued from a remote New Hampshire trail early Sunday. Catherine Hudson texted 911 just before dawn, saying she was cold and feared hypothermia after falling multiple times on the steep Great Gulf Trail. Conservation officers reached her by hiking down a slippery rock field from Mount Washington’s Auto Road. Hudson, an experienced hiker with the proper gear, was rehydrated, fed, and warmed before hiking out on her own. Officials credit her preparation with preventing a more serious outcome.
