Danbury Inmate Gets Added Prison Time for Razor Blade Assault

A federal inmate at the Danbury prison has been sentenced to an extra year and a day for attacking another prisoner with a homemade weapon. Prosecutors say 34 year old Jonathan Cruz-Carmona used a broken pencil and razor blades to assault a fellow inmate in December 2023. The injury was not life-threatening. Cruz-Carmona is already serving over 16 years for a 2016 murder tied to a drug trafficking ring in Rochester, New York. The new sentence will run after his current one.
