A Danbury man has been charged with sexual assault after police say he was caught assaulting a 12-year-old girl in her home on February 13th. The girl’s stepfather reportedly caught 25 year old John Guaman-Carangui in the act and contacted authorities. Guaman-Carangui later admitted to previous assaults. He’s facing charges of first-degree sexual assault, illegal sexual contact, and risk of injury to a child. He is now being held behind bars, with bail set at $500,000. The case remains under investigation.
