A federal grand jury has indicted a Danbury man for trafficking cocaine through the U.S. Mail. Prosecutors say 41-year-old Roman Santiago Jr. received multiple drug shipments from Puerto Rico—each about two kilos—between last September and this February, totaling more than 11 kilos of cocaine. He’s also charged with intent to distribute fentanyl. Santiago was arrested in February and for now, he remains free on $50,000 bond. That could soon change though. Each count carries a minimum 10-year prison sentence and could mean life behind bars if he is convicted.
