Danbury leaders say they’ve begun talks with a property owner about building a new west side fire station, known as Engine 27. The proposed site is near Mill Plain Road, where response times currently can take up to 14 minutes. Voters approved $49 million last November for public safety and infrastructure, including funding for the new station. Officials say the area’s growing population and fire risks demand faster response times.
