19 year old Alexis Salazar of Danbury is facing manslaughter and multiple other charges after a high-speed crash on Route 34 in Newtown that killed 19 year old Mary Cordero and seriously injured three others. Police say Salazar was driving more than twice the 40-mph speed limit when he hit a tree around 2:40 a.m. on Aug. 24. Investigators also noted alcohol in the vehicle and conflicting statements from Salazar. All injured were taken to Danbury Hospital.
