Danbury School Board Backs $175 Million Budget Proposal

The Danbury Board of Education has unanimously approved a proposed $175 million school budget for the 2026–27 school year. The plan increases spending by about $3 million, or 1.75 percent, and is described by district leaders as a tightly constrained budget that still meets core needs. The proposal now moves to Mayor Roberto Alves for inclusion in the city’s overall spending plan later this spring.
