Danbury Schools Brace For Higher Costs As West Campus Fills Up

Danbury school officials say next year’s budget will jump as the new Danbury High School West campus hits full enrollment. School officials say they expect 400 to 500 more students, requiring more teachers, custodians, and support staff. Transportation costs are also expected to rise once students pick career pathways. They say state education aid may stay flat, leaving the city to cover inflation and salary hikes. A formal budget proposal heads to the school board in January.
